August Founding Team

Overview: As a passionate supporter of August’s mission to destigmatize periods, I jumped at the opportunity to join the team. I was the 10th overall hire and the second on the Business Development team—joining right after the VP—to help grow August from a DTC startup into an omnichannel brand spanning B2B, retail, and e-commerce.
Year 1 accomplishments
Built scrappy CRM program and strategy in excel growing B2B sales channel 100%
Created the “August Advocate Program” hiring ~10 interns to investigate university stakeholders in charge of purchasing period products leading to my recommendation that August needs to focus on retail over b2b channels
Managed sales pipeline for SMB B2B and retail customers increasing revenue by 144% in 2023
Oversaw customer support, PO management and order processing for all B2B and retail customers
Conducted market analytics research by cold calling dispenser and distribution companies, identifying expansion opportunities to bring August to large-scale B2B and retail customers i.e. universities and grocery
Supervised customer support team managing 100+ monthly inbound emails
Initiated and lead monthly check-in for junior staff to discuss professional and personal development
Created SMS text flow in Attentive expanding customer base and increasing brand awareness to university campuses
Year 2 accomplishments
Led brand partnerships by introducing products to new audiences, including GlowBar, Glossier, and more
Led a packaging rebrand across all product SKUs, managing both our Marketing team and an external creative agency to ensure the update aligned with core brand values and was optimized for retail success
Partnered with Social Media and Marketing teams to ensure we were effectively communicating partnerships and brand updates to customers via email, sms and social media marketing
Represented executive team at ~2 fundraising events per month to expand network and secure funding for Series A, including Beauty Matter and Vital Voices events in NYC
Designed and implemented marketing strategy for 11 partners, resulting in 1000x ROAS growth
Increased Amazon revenue 300% from 2023 by creating a pricing model to evaluate product feasibility, overseeing marketing strategy, and leading weekly meetings with August and Amazon agency
Oversaw our accounting, email marketing and Amazon agencies to meet all internal P&L and brand goals
Produced branded content for new product launches coordinating logistics, timelines, and brand deliverables
Processed accounts receivable in partnership with an accounting agency using Quickbooks and Google Sheets for 120+ B2B and retail customers, or ~70% of company net sales in 2024
Streamlined and processed freight and logistics for all orders including, Target, WeWork, DoorDash, etc. ensuring shipments follow customer regulations and are cost effective contributing to 100% QoQ growth
Partnered with email marketing agency to ensure emails properly communicated product launches and updates
